The Geek Squad- the technical support task force located within Best Buys nationwide have come up with some hi-tech fun for Valetine's Day 2010. Although Geek Squad Agents aren’t the typical go-to when it comes to the language of love, they do have some valuable tips on how to use technology to help stay connected to a long distance love.

Additionally, Geek Squad is looking to help 6 long distance couples this Valentine’s Day. The Agents will be hosting a dinner for LA-NYC based couples at BLT Steak on Friday February 12th. Although the couples will be thousands of miles apart, they will have the dinner via skype. Additionally, each couple will receive a netbook and $150 worth of Geek Squad service, to help them stay connected past Valentine’s Day.

Going the Distance:

Distance makes the heart grow stronger, keep the flame burning with technology

You live in Denver. She lives in Chicago. You met in college, but can’t seem to get a job in the same city.

Let’s face it – long distance love is rough. But with today’s technology, there are tools to that can help you make the space between you and your partner seem smaller.

Keep the spark in your long distance romance alive with these tips from Geek Squad.

I See You, Can You See Me: Communication is key in a long distance relationship, but marathon phone conversations can be pricy. Download Skype, and with the help of a web cam and microphone, you'll not only hear that voice you've come to love – you'll see their face as well.

Games, Games, Games: Find an online game that you can play together. From MMORPGs like World of Warcraft and the like, to playing Scrabble on Facebook, shared experiences help cement the bond between two people.

Time Flies: If flying is the only way to travel to see your mate, sign up for cheap flight alerts through weekly newsletters from Travelzoo.com, Priceline.com and Orbitz.com. With the economy down, you can find some incredible deals, if you know where to look.

I’m Lost Without You: If you live within driving distance of your partner, you’re in luck. But online diving directions can sometimes be out of date. Invest in a GPS system to make sure you don’t lose your way on a weekend visit, or print out a map ahead of time at mapquest.com or at Google Maps. And remember, your GPS is only as good as its maps – so make sure to download or upgrade the latest and greatest versions. (This will also save you a few fights, once you do get together – it’s easier to blame it on the Nuvi or Garmen than each other when you’re lost on lover’s lane.)
