Dear Matt & Tamsen,

I am really attracted to a cute guy who lives in my building. We make eye contact and exchange smiles but he won’t ask me out! What can I do to take it up a few notches?

Here are a few power moves that might wake up his sluggish romantic soul:

1. Be aggressive: What do you have to lose? Stop him and look him right in the eyes, and introduce yourself. This will give him the opportunity to get your number. If he is timid and doesn’t ask for your digits, his loss, you want a man not a boy anyway.

2. Leave a note with the door man for him that says you both seem to be so busy that you wanted to formally introduce yourself and leave your apartment number and phone number.

3. Have a group of friends over from your building and invite him and a buddy for a casual get together. This is very informal and non committal, just the kind of invitation he will respond to.
